This is painting #5 in the ‘Barsoom’ series, done to illustrate an article by Richard A. Lupoff in Heavy Metal Magazine. Elak of Atlantis

This is a painting I did in the late 1970’s for a book cover which was never used. It was published as a signed & numbered, limited edition fantasy art print. It’s one of the biggest paintings I ever did and one of a very few I did on Masonite. This was also one of my first attempts at painting a dragon.
